There are millions of animal books floating around, both good and bad. You never know if a book is bad until you've read it... and wasted a spot for it on your 10-book library card limit.
That's why we've narrowed down some great animal books, to save both you and your library card the trouble. These are great books, that will satisfy your craving for great animal stories!
The Warriors, Seekers, Survivors, and Bravelands series, all by Erin Hunter. These series are great! With cats, bears, dogs, and elephants adventuring and battling within our world, they will keep you up reading late.
The Green Ember series, by S.D. Smith. Sword-wielding rabbits fight monster wolves and raptors to restore their kingdom and crown their prince. What's not to love? You will be caught up fighting for the land of Natalia as you read.
The Tale of Desperoux, by Kate Dicamillo. If you like mice, or even if you hate mice, you will love this tale of a brave little mouse, in love with a princess, who defeats the rats of the castle dungeon. A nice long read, perfect for car trips.
The Redwall series, by Brian Jaques. Mice, rabbits, hedgehogs, and other creatures fight rats and snakes in these thrilling classics. A long, wonderful series!
The Wolves of The Beyond and Gaurdians of Ga'Hoole series, by Katherine Lasky. Wolves and owls inhabit the world of these two series, and the action never lets up! Great series to collect, as there are MANY books!
The Mistmantle Chronicles, by M. I. Mcallister. On an island surrounded by mists that protect it from invaders, a young squirrel falls from the stars. Follow Urchin's adventures as he serves his king and island.
I hope this has been helpful! Animal fantasy is one of the most exciting genres, and it's so much fun to read! Enjoy!
May your sword be sharp and your bookshelf full,
Marie
The Green Ember and Seekers are my favorite.
